Highly Effective Non-Ablative Laser Skin Resurfacing Just Got "Patient-Friendly"

State of the Art Technology: Dramatic, Trusted Results

“Patients are coming back for their second and third treatments for a reason, and they are sending in their friends.”

“Pixel Q-Switched laser is the best defence against a face lift.”

Being ahead of the curve with laser technology we are delighted to offer to our clients the ClearLift™ Pixel Q-Switched laser known as The Laser Facelift.

ClearLift™, formerly known as Pixel Q-Switch, is a virtually painless, non-ablative approach to laser skin resurfacing. Using 1064nm Q-Switched laser technology, patients are enjoying fast, comfortable treatments with visible results and no downtime.

ClearLift™ Pixel Q-Switched laser Is a collagen developing treatment which improves skin texture and tone, smoothes wrinkles, brightens dark patches and diminishes brown age spots for youthful vitality. Targeting dark circles, neck lines, large pores, saggy skin and fine lines all in one treatment, the Pixel Q-Switched Laser Facelift from Alma Lasers differs from traditional fractional or pixelated laser skin resurfacing treatments because it goes deeper into the dermis. This means the regeneration takes place underneath with no injury to the skin's surface.

The main advantage is the comfort and no down time offered by PixelQ while achieving very good results in treating all signs of ageing –skin laxity, texture, pigmentation.

The ultimate lunchtime quick-fix, this treatment is known as the "laser face lift" because of the dramatic results achievable after just 30 minutes. The pixel Q-Switched laser works by treating the epidermis and upper dermis, creating tiny ablative zones which stimulate the growth of young, healthy tissue and a greater collagen production rate. The skin is regenerated from beneath, for beautifully youthful and renewed skin, without pain or redness., ClearLift improves fine lines, wrinkles, the appearance of small veins and redness caused by vascularity. It is gentle enough to treat areas that are typically too sensitive to treat with traditional ablative lasers, such as the delicate skin around the eyes, neck, mouth and chest.

Alma Laser's ClearLift delivers a controlled dermal wound without harming the overlying epidermis so that all stages of healing and skin repair occur under the intact epidermis.

Because ClearLift heats deep beneath the skin (up to 3mm in depth) no numbing is required prior to treatment and all skin healing happens without damaging the outer layer of skin.

Used exclusively with the Harmony XL, ClearLift represents a new alternative to traditional laser skin resurfacing and laser skin surgery. Clear Lift offers many advantages:

  • Fast and Easy to use - Treatments in as little as 20 minutes
  • Virtually Painless, No Downtime
  • Visible improvement in skin appearance in as little as one treatment*
  • Versatile - the 1064 nm Q-Switched module is also indicated for tattoo removal, pigmented and vascular lesions, nail fungus and more.
  • The Q-Switched laser module is indicated for use on all skin types (Fitzpatrick I - VI)

Laser Facelift: Am I suitable?

If you're looking for a all-over facial rejuvenation without surgery, then the Laser Facelift might be for you. It's suitable for all ages and most skin types with moderate signs of ageing and/or sun damage.

Laser Facelift: What's the treatment like?

The Pixel Q-Switched laser divides up the light energy into multiple fractions that target deep into the dermis. The 'damage' it does then encourages the production of collage at this deep level for a lifting and tightening effect as well as improving the appearance of fine lines and uneven skin tone.

Laser Facelift: What about after?

The treatment takes just twenty minutes and patients report seeing an immediate plumping effect, but these results continue to improve over the next month as collagen is rebuilt. For best results, three to five treatments are recommended.

A touch-up treatment might be required six to 12 months later – your lifestyle can affect the longevity of the results and you should maintain a healthy lifestyle and take good care of your skin to get the most from your Laser Facelift treatment.

Laser Facelift: Are there any risks or side effects?

A 'lunchtime lift', the Laser Facelift has no downtime because the Pixel Q-Switched laser works deep underneath the skin's surface, leaving no redness or tell-tale signs that give the game away. This means that normal activities can be resumed immediately.

New Technology From Alma Lasers May Be First Real Alternative to Face Lift Surgery

Dr. KeeLee Tan, an Australian physician specializing in non-invasive aesthetic procedures, operates one of the first clinics in Asia Pacific to use Alma Lasers new laser technology that he claims can remove years from one's appearance in just 10-20 minutes. Add in the fact that patients don't feel discomfort and can go back to their normal routine immediately following treatment, and Dr. Tan believes this new laser technology may be the first real alternative to face lift surgery.

"The key to this treatment is an advanced laser called ClearLift with Pixel Q-Switched technology. The heat of the laser reaches the deeper layer of the skin and results in an immediate improvement in skin appearance, with further skin enhancement continuing after the treatment...I have patients coming into my clinic that in the past would have been candidates for eyebrow lifts, neck lifts and face lifts who now have the option of appearing 10 years younger for a fraction of the price with virtually no pain or downtime. I tell them that I offer a lunchbreak facelift since the results are seen immediately after a 10-20 minute session," said Dr. Tan.

Manufactured by Alma Lasers, a leading developer of advanced medical aesthetic technologies, the new ClearLift Pixel Q-Switched laser is the first fractional non ablative Nd:YAG Q-Switched laser. The advanced rapid-fire laser splits the laser beam into a series of miniature beams, thereby heating only a small portion of the skin. This technique speeds up and enhances the treatment results, provides a virtually pain free procedure that doesn’t require pre or post-treatment care and is very safe for all skin types.

Dr. Macrene Alexiades-Armenakas, MD, PhD, a board certified dermatologist practicing in New York, and respected expert in laser technologies explained the science behind the new laser on the Dr. Oz show (aired Feb. 2012). "The new laser is very different from every other laser in its category. The laser penetrates deep beneath the skin, but by bypassing the outer most layer of skin and not wounding it, it renders the treatment virtually painfree, with no downtime and extraordinarily safe. It is therefore the treatment of choice for sensitive body parts like around the eyes, mouth, neck and chest; areas which historically were very difficult to treat due to their association with an increased risk of burns and scars."

Dr. Michael Gold, MD, a board certified dermatologist practicing in Nashville is a world renowned speaker on new aesthetic technologies who uses the new laser in his private clinic. "The laser industry has advanced considerably in the past few years, and I believe that Alma Lasers Q-Switched offers a solution that until now has been considered the work horse for everyone involved in medical aesthetics. This is a truly quick, virtually painfree, and low-cost treatment with the clinical data to back it up."

Pixel Q-Switch Laser Module Offers Less Pain with Plenty of Gain

Macrene Alexiades-Armenakas, M.D., Ph.D. Assistant Clinical Professor Yale University School of Medicine Director Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center New York, NY Lawrence Desjarlais, M.D., F.A.A.D. General, Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatologist Ann Arbor and Adrian, MI For the millions of potential skin rejuvenation patients who question whether they are willing to accept the pain, downtime and risks associated with traditional ablative, and in some cases non-ablative, laser procedures, the Pixel Q-Switch Module for the Harmony XL platform from Alma Lasers (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) may be the answer.

Dermatologists familiar with this module say it provides what no other fractional non-ablative technology has been able to: a painless treatment with zero downtime. It does so by utilizing a Q-switched 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser beam, which delivers a controlled, pixilated wound at an effective depth without harming the overlying epidermis. According to Macrene Alexiades- Armenakas, M.D., Ph.D., assistant clinical professor at Yale University School of Medicine, and director of the Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center in New York, N.Y., the Pixel Q-Switch is truly non-ablative. “There is no wounding of the epidermis. The 1064 nm beam penetrates to 4 mm, and with the Q-switched nano-bursts, we do not get the collimated thermal damage associated with some other fractionated non-ablative technologies.” The penetration depth of the wavelength is also important, she said, because, “we want to maximize access to the full thickness of the skin. We want more than a band of rejuvenated collagen to maximize results.” Dr. Alexiades-Armenakas is conducting a study for Alma Lasers focusing on the periorbital, lip, neck and chest areas, which she has identified as high-response areas. “Lip lines are typically resistant to all types of treatments, but the Pixel Q-Switch works very well there,” she said. “This is perhaps due to its penetration depth, which may be significant for areas that are adjacent to mucosa and cartilage.” Additionally, she believes the Pixel Q-Switch will become the treatment of choice for neck and chest resurfacing because of its excellent safety profile.

Also, for skin resurfacing a brief but intense amount of energy in each laser spot is ideal, which is the advantage of the Q-switched approach, said Lawrence Desjarlais, M.D., F.A.A.D., who practices general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology in Ann Arbor and Adrian, Mich. Dr. Desjarlais said the technology that drives the Pixel Q-Switch makes it safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types; although he recommends test spots for type VI skin. In Dr. Desjarlais’ experience, the laser has been selling itself in his practice. “It is definitely better tolerated. Patients are coming back for their second and third treatments for a reason, and they are sending in their friends.

Some patients would rather have multiple treatment visits to achieve their desired results instead of dealing with more pain and downtime.” Dr. Desjarlais also appreciates the speed of the Pixel Q-Switch therapy. “I can finish a face and neck treatment, which is a large area, in 20 to 30 minutes. Furthermore, it’s easy to add to the Harmony XL because of Alma’s unique laser platform approach.”

Considering practice management issues, Dr. Alexiades-Armenakas pointed out the Pixel Q-Switch can also be used in a non-fractional manner for tattoo removal, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, striae, rosacea and telangiectasia. “I commend Alma on the fact that no disposables are needed with this module,” she added. “The cost of disposables can really add up and extend the time to return on investment.”
